As we approach the final few working days here at Hello Starling we have two things on our mind. Firstly, where on earth are the mince pies? There’s a time and a place for feeling peckish and it’s not December and it’s not in this office. And secondly, cor blimey, what a year it’s been! From award winning clients, to a fresh new website and our first large scale integrated advertising campaign – we’ve been non-stop all year round and we thought we’d share some of our highlights.

Our media team have continued to cement our status as the home of great Welsh brands, working with legendary Welsh organisations including WRU, Brains and Time to Change Wales, delivering media plans that guarantee that the right message will be shared with the right people. In October we were overjoyed to attend the CIM Canmol: Wales Marketing Awards celebrating wins for two of our clients, Arriva Trains Wales and S4C.

Our design team have spent the year working on a range of projects with a range of clients from producing print collateral for Welsh-language national theatre, Theatr Gen, to TV campaigns for Arriva Trains Wales. All whilst redesigning and rebuilding our website (no easy feat, I’m sure you’re aware). With rebranding projects and fresh briefs awaiting us in 2015, the future is looking creative and really rather busy!

The design team joined forces with our marketing folk in the Autumn of this year, producing the first fully integrated advertising campaign for our own brand. Advertisers advertising an advertising agency. Our ATTENTION grabbing work saw all members of the team pull together to develop a design and media plan that introduced our brand to Wales. With plans for a second campaign coming together nicely, be sure to keep you eyes open for us (we’ll be hard to miss)!

Now, we’re firm believers in the philosophy ‘work hard, play hard’ and we’ve enforced this in full effect throughout 2014. You could consider us regulars at the wonderful Custom House in Penarth during the winter months, however we tend to spend summer lunchtimes bbq-ing alongside the canal outside our office (much to the enjoyment of our neighbours). The Hello Starling box at the Millennium Stadium is getting a lot of action as well, and we’re looking forward to 2015 for the Rugby World Cup and a visit from the One Direction boys.

So, as we wrap up on what’s been quite the year we would like to wish our clients, suppliers, friends and blog followers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Looking forward to catching up in 2015!
