Last Wednesday evening saw the brightest of marketing talent in Wales gather at the fantastic (and appropriately grand) Portland House to celebrate the very best marketing campaigns from the past year.

Complimentary drinks, an incredible mannequin challenge, a photobooth, a three-course meal, and more sweets than you can shake a stick at – the awards enabled the attendees to get dressed up to the nines, and to pat each other on the back for some fantastically executed work over the past year.

The Awards

Being a chartered board, the Chartered Institute of Marketers (CIM) is comprised of and represented by an independent panel of judges – including some of the best and most established marketers around. More closely aligned with the national CIM awards than ever this year, the Welsh arm of the awards (formerly known as Canmol) represents the pinnacle of marketers in Wales.

The Winners

Following the success of the Welsh contingent at the national CIM Awards last year, more winners than ever before made it through to the national awards this year. The big winners on the night included… Peter’s Pies for Marketing Campaign of the Year, DS Smith for Marketing Team of the Year, Equinox for Best Integrated Campaign, and our friend at Dŵr Cymru/Welsh Water, Morgan Lloyd, for marketer of the year. We’d like to wish you all the best of luck for national awards in April of next year!

Why we do it

As our MD James Robinson explained on the night, we sponsor the awards because we believe in the importance of celebrating the great work being done on our doorstep:

“We critique marketing campaigns on a daily basis. So we know how tough it is to cut through the noise; to create a campaign that makes people think, feel and do something! That’s why we want to celebrate the talented people who make this happen by sponsoring the CIM Wales / Cymru Marketing Awards 2016. Because we know this talent exists in Wales, and we want to showcase it.”
