Our bodies have been battered and bruised as we battled against the call of the couch in favour of strenuous activity in aid of Active April and Llamau.

All month we have collectively put in a minimum of 30 minutes a day of exercise. Whether this be Angharad’s HIIT (high-intensity interval training), John’s Obstafit, Andy’s surfing, or the running and gym work of the whole team, it’s fair to say that we have all pushed ourselves to new limits.

What have we learnt?

Getting going was the hardest part

While we are now a team of peak health and fitness, but a month ago we were in a sorry state. Much like a Rocky montage however we fought through the pain and the hard times to reach our goals (and after the first week or so actually started to enjoy it!).

Exercise really does help chill you out

It was not only our waistlines that felt the benefit of Active April. We noticed that a good workout helped ease the stresses and strains of day-to-day life.

Gym selfies are shameful

Sneaking in a gym selfie is logistically a difficult task. Unlike our fit friends on Instagram, our attempts to snap a quick (and discreet) selfie in the gym mirrors didn’t quite end up with the same aesthetically pleasing results. Red faced and broken… attempts at filtering were futile.

Team morale was given a boost

Knowing that we were helping such a great cause gave us all motivation not only to push ourselves, but to urge each other to keep going.

Before we go…

There is still time to donate!

You can still donate via our Just Giving page. Llamau does great and very important work – offering a helping hand to those in desperate need of it, and connecting people where others cannot. So please please just take 30 seconds out of your day to give as much or as little as you can afford and donate today.

Time for a well earned rest!
